Science Unit - Week 3

And finally the rest of the science unit activities have been finished - for now!

We were very lucky to have Mrs. Yates to come in to talk to us about hibernation. We learned, for example, that bears don't go to the bathroom when they hibernate... their pee is converted in energy for them to use! Wow!

Mrs. Yates also brought in a bear fur and some skulls of various animals that hibernate, including a bear and a bobcat.

At the end of the week, the grade 4s came in and we did our penguin-themed day. We had centers from playing with penguins in water beads to drawing letters in the sand with a penguin, to various penguin activities and puzzles to making a penguin craft (still in the works).
